Ever since the beginning of time, I made a wish, to enjoy a day off , its that simple, I know I have to come up with better wishes..
And although it looks a bit too exaggerated but really the desire for that is that intense. Not that I lead a highly stressful life, and I have innumerable responsibilities , but I haven’t had a free weekend for a very long time, and I really really really really really ( yeah its that many reallys) wanted to have a free day… Just for me.. And that was today!
So this is what I did, I woke up at the crack of dawn, and exercised and read the newspaper and ate a proper breakfast. Ok none of that happened, I am just kidding.
First thing I did was to go off line from everywhere possible. Such a relief and a break from it all, but sometimes you just need to relax and think and take care of yourself.
Pray, Play some loud music, do some cleaning, cook something, wash your piling laundry, play the guitar, watch some tv, just simply lay on your couch, take a long hot shower, do your hair and your nails, and look all brand new. Just slow down for a few hours, infuse life back into your system before you go back to routine.
Take care of yourself, only then will you be able to take care of others. Just unwind, let the piling work pile, let the mails come pouring in, let every to-do list just build up, sometimes we need to ignore all of those and just move slow. The truth is that if you don’t feel good, your not going to be able to do much good.
So take a break, just let time stop for a few hours and take care of yourselves. Be Human if only for a few minutes. Let your worries not trouble you.
Its like Jesus said in :
Mathew 6 : 25-34
25″Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
26″Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? 28And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31″So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?’ or `What shall we drink?’ or `What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
So let it all go and enjoy it all and welcome to December!
Here’s to holidays and spare time
