The Vow: Completely wowed

I finally got to watch the Vow, incase you haven’t you should really see, it is one of those movies that will melt your heart.

Its one of those stories that belongs in the words of the  genius that is Nicholas Sparks, but this is one is an actual story, inspired by true events, and although it seems impossible that something like this could have happened, it really did, and that is why watching it, is really worth it. If i had to liken this movie to something, it would be like a tiny ray of sun, peeking in gently through a closed curtain that has the slightest opening, and that ray of light after finding that opening is just bursting forth with all the energy it can muster. It is that subtle yet definitive spark of Hope.

It will really make you smile.

Channing Tatum has that ability, and the same goes for Rachel McAdams. The Best thing about the vow are the actual vows, especially when Leo’s (Channing), he says it with such conviction, you just know that this is nothing ordinary and it is fully heart -felt.

Here Leo’s Vows

I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love. I vow to love you, and no matter what challenges might carry us apart, we will always find a way back to each other.

Here’s Paige’s Vows

I vow to help you love life, to always hold you with tenderness, and to have the patience that love demands. To speak when words are needed, and to share the silence when they’re not. To agree to disagree on red velvet cake, and to live within the warmth of your heart and always call it home.

I don’t know what inspiration the writer had, or if these are the actual vows that the couple on whose life this story is based had, but it was the one thing that I carried out of the film, and just for this I can watch the movie again and again and again.

Here is a link to quotes from the movie that are equally good: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/the-vow-quotes

I guess I want to be able to tell somebody that I vow to fiercely love them and then be able to do just that.

To promises that we make and keep…

Have a great day
